Dr. Craig E. Zachlod, C.E.M.
President
Craig Zachlod, Ed.D. is an International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM)-Certified Emergency Manager (C.E.M.) and a California certified school administrator with more than 30 years leadership experience in emergency management and international business.
Craig has worked extensively with public agencies, institutions of higher education, schools and businesses. His career has combined academic and multinational corporate services domestically and internationally.
As Dean of the School of Management at John F. Kennedy University, he introduced Global Connect, a pioneer graduate distance learning program and acquired USDOE funding to create a Global Business Resources Center to serve regional community businesses.
Since 1999, Craig has been providing emergency management and grant development and management services to businesses, school districts, colleges and universities throughout the country. Craig currently serves on several key emergency preparedness committees including, IAEM Higher Education and Education and Training Committees, State of California Emergency Planning Committee, several county and local emergency management and public health committees.
Dr. Zachlod’s most recent leadership assignments have included Chair of the California Disaster Resistant California Community Colleges Task Force (2007-2009), Statewide Emergency Management Coordinator for the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office (2007-2009); Director of School Community Management for five counties (California Education Region One 2006-2008); Director Los Angeles County Environmental Health Emergency Operations Plan Project (2007); Director of the Sonoma County United States Department of Education Crisis and Emergency Management Grant Project (2004-2006). Craig is also a member of several related committees and a frequent key presenter at local, state, national and international emergency management conferences and events.
In January 2010, he completed production of a workshop video and resource package—Emergency Management For Colleges and Universities, which is being distributed by clients California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office, and sponsor, Alliance of Schools for Cooperative Insurance Programs (ASCIP).
Kay C. Goss, C.E.M., M.A., A.B.D.
Since May 2007, Kay Goss has led SRA International’s Emergency Preparedness and Planning, Response, Recovery, Exercises and Training, as well as Crisis Communications, and Environmental Emergency Management practice areas.
Providing thought leadership, quality assurance, and project management skills, Kay oversees and manages SRA International partnerships with clients as well as outreach to the larger community.
Kay holds CEM, MA and ABD degrees in political science/public administration doctoral studies. She has more than 30 years experience in emergency management and former Associate Director of FEMA in charge of National Preparedness, Training, and Exercises. She is also the founder of the FEMA Higher Education Program; former Senior Assistant to the Governor of Arkansas for Emergency Management, Fire Service, Emergency Medical Services, and Public Safety; Chair of ASTM Working Group on School Preparedness; Chair of Governor's Working Group on School Emergency Preparedness Curriculum in Virginia; President, Foundation on Accreditation of Emergency Management Degree Programs; Chair, International Association of Emergency Managers Committee on Training and Education, as well as Adjunct Faculty for University of North Carolina, University of Nevada at Las Vegas, and Istanbul Technical University.
